About Me

Welcome to taking a significant step toward your personal growth. I am a somatic and holistic therapist who values you, the person. My goal is to provide you with a space to explore and grow.

Meet Megan Kopack

Hi, I’m Megan (she/her), a licensed counselor geographically based in northern Virginia and serving people throughout Virginia and Ohio.

I am passionate about helping others explore and heal their past in ways that allow them to find meaning and strength in a grounded present and a healthy future.

I am humbled and honored to be able to walk alongside others through their toughest journeys with unconditional support, compassion, and a touch of humor and joy.

My Background

I’m a trauma-informed therapist who recognizes all humans are unique and dynamic and I aim to tailor treatment specific to each client’s goals, needs, and wants. I work to create a caring, open, and judgment-free space for my clients to explore and define their whole selves by utilizing neuroscience-based approaches to address dysregulation within the nervous system, body, and mind that may be contributing to current challenges.

I earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. I hold dual licensure in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor and in Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.

Specialization

As a somatic and relational therapist, I specialize in helping clients cultivate meaningful relationships with themselves and others. Through our work together, we will identify and address the root causes of trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression that may be hindering your relationships and overall well-being.

If you’ve struggled with feelings of unworthiness or disconnection, I can provide support and guidance as you redefine what connection means to you. My approach equips clients with realistic and effective tools to connect with their bodies, emotions, and minds, fostering effective regulation and a greater sense of presence.

Together, we can create a life that aligns with your deepest desires and aspirations.

I specialize in the treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and symptoms associated with borderline personality disorder in adults aged 20+. My areas of expertise include complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), childhood and early developmental trauma, family-of-origin concerns, and chronic, persistent anxiety.

I am EMDRIA Certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy and participate in regular group and individual consultations to continue refining my skills and practices. I have training and supervised experience in Polyvagal Theory and am certified in the delivery of the Safe and Sound Protocol and the application of Polyvagal Theory in therapeutic yoga. Additionally, I utilize creative somatic therapy techniques, Ego State Therapy (parts work), mindfulness, attachment theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy to create a holistic approach to healing psychologically, physically, and spiritually.
